Welcome to Light of Love

This newsletter contains interesting and useful information about Sahaja Yoga meditation. Sahaja Yoga was founded by Shri Mataji, a great spiritual leader of our times.

'Whole life should be a light; light of love, light of Divinity, light of beauty.' Shri Mataji, 1992

Sahaja Yoga comes to TareeOver the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, 9-11 June 2007, Sahaja Yogis from Sydney, Newcastle, the Central Coast, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Wingham came together in a small rural village called Bobin to present a Sahaja Yoga program.

The initial idea had been to have a stall as part of the Taree Envirofest on the Saturday but that was cancelled due to the wet conditions. Instead, the group made an excursion to Ellenborough Falls, followed by a meditation program at the local radio station.

Sahaja Yoga at the radio stationOn Sunday, the planned public program was held at Bobin Hall. Music by Music of Joy and Sahaj Quawwal supported the program, and a presentation of traditional Indian Dance rounded off the evening.

Thirty people received their self-realisation, with several staying on to dance the evening away and share a meal. Many telephone calls have been received since then from people who couldn’t make it to the public program but who would like to come along to local public programs.

Many thanks are due to the local radio station for promoting the program and providing the hour on air.

Blue flower

The time has come.
At last
This is our time.
It flows
Around and in and through our lives.

This timeless time for which we sought
And struggled in the past and grasped in glimpses.
Promised scenes, arcadias
And “might have beens” dissolve
As we become
Of timelessness a part.

That innocence
That everlasting Now
Is here with us
And we are in the midst
Deep
In the calyx
Of that Heart.

Goddess GayatriThe Gayatri Mantra is seen by many Hindus as the foremost mantra, the way to the Divine awakening of the mind and soul. The Gayatri Mantra is seen as the way to reach the most Supreme form of existence.

The Upanisads (sacred Hindu texts) contain many references to the Gayatri Mantra, and it is contained in all the four Vedas. The Goddess Gayatri is the Mother of all the Vedas and the consort of Brahma. She is made up of the coming together of Parvati, Laxmi and Saraswati to become Adi Parashakti, the Mother of Gods and the Supreme God of all Gods. She is also associated with the sun and is worshipped as the Sun Goddess.

Om bhu Om bhuvah Om Svah On mahah Om janah Om tapah Om satyam

Om bhu bhuvah svarah.

Om tat savitur  varenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi.

Dhiyo yo nah prachodayat.

Om apo jyoti raso mrtyam Brahma bhuvah svar Om.

It is believed that reciting the Gayatri Mantra creates the power of righteous wisdom. All problems are solved by those who have this gift. No calamity will befall them and they will not tread the wrong path.

It is not just reciting the mantra that is important, however. Understanding and purely being the essence of the Gayatri Manta is one of the most powerful ways to attain God and is the way to union with Brahma.
