Sahaja Yoga Meditation will have a stall at the 2009 Sydney Mind Body Spirit Festival to be held this week. If you’ve always wondered about meditation, but weren’t sure how to do it, we’ll be happy to help you.
While there is a general entrance fee to enter the Festival itself, Sahaja Yoga will, as always, be teaching our meditation for free. Sahaja Yoga Meditation is very easy to do and you are welcome to join us to experience the peace it offers.
The Festival is at the Sydney Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, from Thursday 30 April until Sunday 3 May 2009, from 10.00am to 7.00pm daily.
You’ll find our meditation stall at: Hall 1, Stand G 04
So if you are planning to attend the Festival, make sure to come and visit us to have the experience of true meditation. We’re also preparing take-home information kits, too, to help you meditate at home. In addition, we will provide information on the many locations throughout Sydney and Australia (and worldwide!) where you can attend free weekly meditation classes.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, as there will be lots of other beginners, too, and we’ll show you simple techniques to enjoy Sahaja Yoga Meditation.

In this great opportunity of love that we are, we are here to enjoy each other fully from our heart, that there is this ocean within us. We have to just get submerged in that ocean. If we are lost in that ocean, then we’ll have no problems, no questions, everything will be our own and we can manage everything without any argument, without any questioning. That is what is being Sahaj.
The Sahaj way, if you have this love, you enjoy. You enjoy yourself and enjoy everybody else because it is Sahaj. Just it is there and it works.
The feeling of love has no way of expressing itself. It is just there. It cannot express itself because it is without expression. It is just to be felt within yourself. Then you want to do so many things. You want to help everyone. You want to help yourself. You want to do good to others.
So much has been done by great leaders of the world because they had that love. They had nothing else but this love, which they could not contain … so they tried to spread it and they are called now as our gurus, as our masters.
It’s that love within which approached people in that unique manner. That’s a thing that we cannot possess, you cannot claim. It is there and it works. It works automatically.
This is what we have to know – that we are that love. That love is within us. We have to have knowledge. We have to have a complete knowledge that we are that love. That will solve our problem. Because you can explain everything, all your behaviour, all your failures, everything you can explain when you know that you are endowed with that love.
This is what is the Guru, is the love within you, which wants to share love with others, which wants to give love to others. This what is peace and joy.
Shri Mataji, 2004
Many years ago I was given the lovely job of listing the gifts that were given at the pujas, so I used to sit on the stage listing the gifts and then I used to supervise them being packed up. On one occasion a large number of gifts had been offered, including some very small ones.
“Where is that little butterfly that the boy gave Me?” Shri Mataji asked me in the evening. Luckily I could find it, and it had been made by a small boy.
“These things are the most important, because they come from the heart,” She said to me.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation Australia is delighted to invite you and your friends to a free screening of a unique documentary, “Freedom and Liberation”.
“Freedom and Liberation” is a biography of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (founder of Sahaja Yoga meditation) who, inspired by her political parents and Mahatma Gandhi, dedicated her youth to the resistance against the British Empire for Indian freedom.
Throughout her entire life, Shri Mataji kept to her vision – a vision which goes beyond the political freedom of her motherland India, a vision of inner freedom and transformation of each individual, a vision that is worth fighting for and that would take her to the five continents to spread her message. A message that has the great capacity to touch people’s hearts and desire for a better life.
“Freedom and Liberation” is the work of young German director, Carolin Dassel, who shows the many stages of this adventurous life in a very subtle way. The timeless impressions and beautiful music, as well as the original locations and archival material, combine to produce an atmosphere of meditative authenticity. The film has now been shown nationally and internationally.
